Verizon Buys Yahoo for $4.83B

Verizon is buying Yahoo for $4.83 billion, marking the end of an era for a company that once defined the internet.

It is the second time in as many years that Verizon has snapped up the remnants of a fallen internet star as it broadens its digital reach. The nation's largest wireless carrier paid $4.4 billion for AOL last year.

Yahoo will be rolled into Verizon's AOL operations and CEO Marissa Mayer may be reunited with AOL CEO Tim Armstrong, who worked with her as executives at Google for years and tried unsuccessfully to convince her to combine the two companies when they both remained independent.

"We have enormous respect for what Yahoo has accomplished: this transaction is about unleashing Yahoo's full potential," Armstrong said in a statement.

Most analysts expect the deal to end the four-year reign of Yahoo's Mayer, a former Google executive who flopped in her attempts to turn around the Sunnyvale, California, company.

Mayer, though, told employees in a Monday email that she intends to stay, though she didn't say for how long. "I love Yahoo, and I believe in all of you. It's important to me to see Yahoo into its next chapter," she wrote.

Yahoo Inc., Sunnyvale, California, is parting with its email service and still-popular websites devoted to news, finance and sports in addition to its advertising tools under pressure from shareholders fed up with a steep downturn in the company's revenue during the past eight years.

The slump has been deepening even though advertisers have been pouring more money into what is now a $160 billion market for digital advertising, according to research firm eMarketer.

Most of the money has been flowing to internet search leader Google and internet social networking leader Facebook, two companies that eclipsed Yahoo during its slide from an online sensation, once valued at $130 billion, to a dysfunctional also ran.

After the sale is completed early next year, Yahoo will become a holding company for its two stakes in China's e-commerce leader, Alibaba Group, and Yahoo Japan. Those investments, made more than a decade ago, are worth more than $40 billion before taxes, making them by far the most valuable pieces of Yahoo. The holding company will drop the Yahoo name and adopt a new identify after Verizon takes control of the operating business.

Yahoo also still has a patent portfolio that it intends to sell, and about $7.7 billion in cash. Verizon is buying Yahoo's real estate, along with the online operations.

Yahoo has hired a succession of CEOs to engineer a comeback, but finally gave up after the high hopes that accompanied Mayer's hiring fizzled out.

The sale potentially could result in thousands of layoffs. Mayer has already jettisoned 1,900 Yahoo workers since last September.

If Mayer leaves following the sale, she will be in line to receive a severance package valued at $55 million.

As people began to flock to the internet with the advent of graphical web browsers in the 1990s, Yahoo was king. After co-founders Jerry Yang and David Filo began building a web directory as Stanford University computer graduate students in 1994, Yahoo quickly established itself as the online hub for tens of millions of people. It also proved internet companies could be profitable as other dot-com startups burned through millions of dollars.

But Yahoo strayed from internet search in an attempt to build a multimedia business, opening the door for Google become a powerhouse. It didn't recognize the importance of social networking and was slow to make the leap into mobile devices like smartphones and tablets. Instead, Yahoo tried to buy Google and Facebook in those companies' formative years, but it was rebuffed and then dwarfed by them.

Mayer believes Yahoo can still come back now it it's about to join a bigger company in Verizon. "Yahoo is a company that changed the world and will continue to do so," she said during a Monday conference call with analysts.

China Rolls out World's Largest Amphibious Aircraft

An official news agency says China has unveiled the world's largest amphibious aircraft that Beijing plans to use for marine missions and fighting forest fires.

The Xinhua News Agency said the AG600 rolled off a production line in Zhuhai in southern China on Saturday. It measures 37 meters (121 feet) in length with a wingspan of 39 meters (128 feet).

The report cites Chinese state aircraft maker, the Aviation Industry Corporation of China, as saying the plane is nearly as big as a Boeing 737.

Last week, a Cessna 208B seaplane making its inaugural flight in China crashed into a highway bridge outside Shanghai, killing five people on board.

Ronaldo Shows Off His Newly Bought Bugatti.

The Real Madrid forward has seemingly splashed out and treated himself after Portugal's surprise success at Euro 2016, adding another supercar to his collection

The "animal", as Ronaldo refers to it, appears to be a 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse version of the Veyron and can reach a top speed of 410 km/h, while it can achieve 0–100 km/h in just 2.6 seconds.

Bugatti label the car as the "most powerful and fastest series roadster in the world", and, if you're thinking of buying one for yourself, it typically sells for a cool €1.2 million...!

Conte: John Terry Will Remain As Team Captain!

John Terry will remain Chelsea captain, new manager Antonio Conte has confirmed.

The 35-year-old defender, who captained the Blues to four Premier League titles in over 700 appearances, signed a one-year contract extension in May after it appeared that he was close to leaving Stamford Bridge.

Terry described the offer as a "different role" but Conte has assured the former England skipper of his stature at the club - that he is captain whether he plays or not.

Taylor Swift Actually Wrote Calvin Harris Hit Song "This is what you came for"

Taylor Swift really is the creative brains behind Calvin Harris' monster hit "This is What You Came For," and their relationship fell apart because he disrespected her when the song was released ... this according to sources connected with Taylor.

It's a fascinating story. We've learned an early fan rumor about the song is true, but to a deeper extent than anyone suspected. During their relationship, Taylor wrote the song, sat down at a piano and did a demo into her iPhone. She sent it to Calvin, who loved it. They both went into a studio and did a full demo with Taylor on vocals and Calvin doing the beat.

They both knew the song would be a hit, but Taylor wrote it for Calvin and both agreed it was a bad idea to let the world know they collaborated as a couple ... it would overshadow the song.

So Taylor, who kept the publishing rights, used the pseudonym Nils Sjoberg on the credits.

Fast forward to April 29th. Calvin released the song with Rihanna and it became an instant hit. It's been at #1 or #2 on the Dance/Electronic chart for 9 weeks, and is #5 on the Billboard 100.

The problem in the relationship came the day the song was released. Calvin appeared on Ryan Seacrest's radio show and Ryan asked, "Will you do a collaboration with your girlfriend?" Calvin responded, "You know we haven't even spoken about it. I can't see it happening though."

We're told Taylor was hurt and felt Calvin took it too far.

It was a quick downward spiral from that point. One source called it "the breaking point in the relationship." The Met Gala was several days later, when Taylor danced with Tom Hiddleston.

BTW ... Taylor has the right to prohibit Calvin from performing the song, but she hasn't and doesn't plan to exercise that right. Ironically, Calvin once wrote a song with then-GF Rita Ora and when they broke up he yanked her right to perform it.

As for why the squad is talking now ... we're told they're sick of Calvin trashing Taylor and feel he should be thanking her for quietly giving him a smash hit.

We reached out to Taylor's rep. So far no word back.

Sepp Blatter claims European draws were fixed by using hot and cold balls as Fifa corruption probe continues

Former Fifa president Sepp Blatter arrives to the Court of Arbitration for Sport Getty Images
Deposed Fifa president Sepp Blatter has claimed some draws for European football competitions were fixed using “hot and cold balls” but insisted it never happened on his watch in Zürich.
The disgraced Swiss is currently in the process of appealing his six-year ban from football through the court of arbitration for sport after being implicated in a wide-ranging probe into corruption during his 18-year tenure at Fifa.

Blatter, Valcke, Kattner got $80M over 5 years: FIFA

LAUSANNE, Switzerland (AP) -- FIFA's top officials Sepp Blatter, Jerome Valcke and Markus Kattner awarded themselves pay rises and World Cup bonuses totaling $80 million over their last five years in office.

Some of the contracted payments appear to break Swiss law, and evidence will be given to American and Swiss federal prosecutors who are investigating corruption implicating the world soccer body, lawyers for FIFA said Friday.

''The evidence appears to reveal a coordinated effort by three former top officials of FIFA to enrich themselves through annual salary increases, World Cup bonuses and other incentives totaling more than 79 million Swiss francs - in just the last five years,'' said Bill Burck of Quinn Emanuel, the U.S. law firm retained by FIFA during its corruption crisis.

FIFA revealed details of the contracts of its former president Blatter, fired former secretary general Valcke and fired finance director Kattner one day after police raided FIFA to seize evidence for the Swiss investigation.

Blatter got a 12 million Swiss francs ($12 million) bonus after the successful 2014 World Cup in Brazil and would have been due another 12 million Swiss francs for completing his 2015-19 presidential term.

The secretly agreed bonuses were significantly more than Blatter's base salary - 3 million Swiss francs ($3 million) in 2015 - which was published by FIFA in March.

Valcke got a $2 million base salary in 2015 before being fired, but got a $10 million World Cup bonus for 2014 and was due $11 million from the 2018 tournament in Russia.

The police raid Thursday included searches in the office of Kattner who was fired last week.

''Documents and electronic data were seized and will now be examined to determine their relevance to the ongoing proceedings,'' the Swiss federal prosecution office said Friday.

Swiss attorney general Michael Lauber opened criminal proceedings against Blatter last September, and against Valcke in March.

Both are suspected of criminal mismanagement of FIFA money. Blatter and Valcke deny wrongdoing but were banned for six and 12 years, respectively, by FIFA's ethics committee.

No criminal proceedings have yet been opened against Kattner.

''Additionally, FIFA will refer the matter of these contracts and payments to the Ethics Committee for its review,'' FIFA said in a statement.

Any ethics investigation could affect two senior officials at the heart of FIFA's financial operation. Finance committee chairman Issa Hayatou, the interim FIFA president while Blatter was suspended, and former audit panel chairman Domenico Scala both approved at least one of the contracts revealed Friday.

Three weeks after new FIFA President Gianni Infantino claimed that ''the crisis is over,'' the turmoil rocking soccer's world governing body continues.

Infantino has been criticized for a breakdown in his relationship with Scala, who resigned on May 14. The FIFA president privately described as ''insulting'' a salary offer from Scala, reported as $2 million without bonuses.

Since Kattner's firing on May 23, German language newspapers have been fed a series of leaked minutes from meetings and FIFA emails which sought to turn scrutiny on Infantino.

Elected four months ago to replace Blatter, Infantino pledged reform and a changed culture at FIFA was expected to face resistance from insiders. The 45-year-old Swiss official also arrived with a reputation as a critic of FIFA during seven years as secretary general of European soccer body UEFA.

Infantino has not publicly criticized FIFA's former regime but the contracts revealed Friday by its top legal advisers seem to have exposed a culture of secrecy and entitlement.

Valcke and Kattner signed eight-year contract extensions on April 30, 2011 - five weeks before Blatter was due to contest a bitterly fought presidential election against Mohamed bin Hammam of Qatar

At the height of FIFA's crisis last year, Kattner was given further cash guarantees from FIFA, which gets

MASCHERANO WANTS OUT OF BARCELONA!

The Argentine is ready to depart Camp Nou after six years as he would like to play in midfield and the Italian champions are ready to offer him that opportunity
Juventus are in contact with Javier Mascherano over a summer transfer and the Argentine is ready to consider leaving Barcelona, Goal understands.

Mascherano would favour a more advanced role than the one he has been playing for Barca, and Juventus would offer the 31-year-old a midfield spot.

It is understood coach Luis Enrique blocked a transfer to Rafael Benitez's Napoli two seasons ago and promised Mascherano he would play in midfield. However, the former Liverpool man has played most of his 280 plus games for Barca in defence due to a lack of alternatives in that position.

Luis Enrique's side would not be happy about losing one of their most important players but would nonetheless welcome the opportunity to save money on their budget for the upcoming season - as well as facilitate the transfer of new players.

ARSENAL COMPLETE XHAKA SIGNING

The 24-year-old midfielder joins in a deal worth over £33 million from Borussia Monchengladbach and is the start of an expected busy summer for the Gunners
Arsenal have completed the signing of Granit Xhaka from Borussia Monchengladbach for a deal worth up to £33.1 million.

The 23-year-old arrived at the club's training ground on Friday to undergo a medical and put the final touches on a four-year deal. Xhaka is expected to wear the no.34 shirt after Francis Coquelin agreed to vacate it.

Xhaka's arrival before the start of the transfer window is a statement of intent by Arsene Wenger, who saw his Arsenal side clinch second place over local rivals Tottenham on the final day of the season, and the start of what is expected to be a busy summer for the Gunners.

Chicago officer who killed unarmed woman resigns from force

A Chicago police officer whose fatal shoing of an unarmed woman was one o a series of killings of young black people that shattered the public's trust has opted to quit rather than fight to keep his job.
The city's police board announced Tuesday that Dante Servin, who was off duty when he shot 22-year-old Rekia Boyd in 2012, resigned two days before a hearing at which the board was to decide if he should be fired.

The case has been of intense interest in Chicago and beyond, both because of the facts of the situation and the controversy that engulfed the department in the years that followed.
Boyd, like the teenager Laquan McDonald who was shot in 2014, was African-American. In March of 2012, she was with a group of friends walking on the street when Servin told them to be quiet. Servin fired because he said he saw a person moving toward him with a gun, but police later found only a cellphone at the scene.
Prosecutors charged Servin with involuntary manslaughter, but in April of last year, a judge issued a surprising acquittal, explaining that Servin had been improperly charged, and suggested that if the act was intentional, then the crime, "if any there be, is first-degree murder."
The city settled a wrongful-death lawsuit in 2013 with Boyd's family for $4.5 million.
In November, then-police Superintendent Garry McCarthy announced he would recommend Servin be fired. That came amid intense anger over the delayed release of the video of Officer Jason Van Dyke shooting McDonald 16 times, and the day before Van Dyke was charged with first-degree murder.
That timing, particularly since McCarthy had earlier said he did not believe Servin should have been charged, contributed to suspicions that McCarthy was simply trying to assuage an increasingly angry city.
Brandon Smith, a freelance journalist who sued the city to get the McDonald video released, said the Servin case could have helped the city's credibility when it desperately needed it in the wake of the release of the McDonald dashcam video.
"If they had moved to fire him in a matter of weeks ... they could have pointed to that as an example of how they aggressively investigated and discipline officers," he said. "As it was, they had no examples."

Portugal have announced their provisional squad ahead of the European Championships this summer as the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Joao Moutinho, Nani, William Carvalho and Pepe predictably make the 23-man squad.

The national side are 20/1 outsiders to win the Euros this summer but this side could be the surprise package throughout the tournament. But we've said that almost every season...

Here is Portugal's 23-man provisional squad for EURO 2016:

Their progression in the tournament will ultimately lie with the goals of Cristiano Ronaldo but a solid defence consisting of Pepe, Danilo and Bruno Alves will surely be key.

Shaquille O’Neal Reveals How He Spent $1 Million In 45 Minutes

Earlier this evening, I spent several minutes wondering whether I could afford a pizza when we're still two weeks from payday and I've already pissed away most of my money on booze. This is not a situation Shaquille O'Neal will ever find himself in, thankfully. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

However, the NBA legend did try his very best to leave himself skint by spending $1 million (£690,000) in about 45 minutes when he signed his first big-money contract with the Orlando Magic.

"The first thing I wanted to do was relieve my parents of their jobs," O'Neal told CNN.

"I (spent) a million dollars in about 45 minutes, but it was well worth it.

"My momma is happy, her house is paid for; she had the car that she knows she would never get in her dreams, a Mercedes-Benz. My father (had) one, I had one. I was good.

"But now you have to educate yourself on how to maintain that, and a lot of people don't do that."

Shaq took a friend's advice and got help managing his money, and he's now worth a reported $350 million (£240 million).

"You want cars, you want diamond earrings, you want jewellery," he said.

"Do whatever you want (with the other 25%)."

"But it's hard. Guys got families, girlfriends, stuff like that. But, a guy taught me that in 1995 and it worked, it worked for me."

KANE WINS PREMIER LEAGUE GOLDEN BOOT!

The Tottenham striker saw his side concede five times on the final day of the season and surrender second place to Arsenal, but topped the division's scoring charts
Harry Kane has won the Premier League’s Golden Boot award after topping the division’s scoring charts despite failing to score on the final day of the Premier League season.

The race to be crowned top scorer saw Kane, Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy and Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero all go head-to-head on Sunday, with just one goal separating the trio.

But despite plenty of build-up, all three players failed to net on the final day of the season, meaning Kane’s tally of 25 goals was enough to seal the award.

The 22-year-old has now hit over 20 goals in two consecutive seasons and is the first Englishman to top the division’s scoring chants since Sunderland’s Kevin Philipps in 1999-2000.

Kane is unlikely to be in a celebratory mood, though, with Tottenham having lost 5-1 to Newcastle – their biggest defeat of the season – and slipping below rivals Arsenal in the league table.

POLICE CONFIRM BOMB HOAX AT OLD TRAFFORD AFTER MANCHESTER UNITED'S ABANDONED MATCH

Bomb disposal experts destroyed the 'suspect package' in a controlled explosion but police have since confirmed that the item 'wasn’t viable'
Greater Manchester Police has confirmed that the suspect package which forced Manchester United's Premier League match against Bournemouth to be abandoned was a hoax.

Old Trafford was fully evacuated shortly after 3pm on Sunday afternoon after a steward discovered a suspicious item in the north-west section of the ground.

Goal understands that the item, which was found in the toilets of an executive suite, looked similar to a pipe bomb.

Bomb disposal experts were called to Old Trafford to destroy the item in a controlled explosion.

In response to the initial security threat, United evacuated both the Stretford End and the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand before 2:50pm.

Shortly after 3pm, United, on the advice of the police, abandoned the game and ordered a full evacuation of the stadium.

Kim Kardashian Gets Brutally Dissed By Beyonce Fans; See The Cruel Shade

Now this is just mean! Beyonce fans dissed Kim Kardashian big time on Instagram. They worship Beyonce’s ‘Lemonade,’ but compare Kim K to tap water. Yikes! See the cruel diss now!
Maybe it’s time for the Beyhive to take a rest. They’ve found a new celeb to diss, and her name is Kim Kardashian, 35. One Bey fan took to Instagram to basically say that Kim is nothing compared to Beyonce, 35! What did Kim ever do to Beyonce?!

Let’s explain the shade. Instagram user bowserceo posted a photo of Beyonce from Lemonade with her album title across the photo. Below the Bey pic is a photo of Kim with “tap water” across the picture. If you search the hashtag #TapWater, the meme is quickly going around the internet. Now that is some serious shade.

This isn’t the first time Kim K has been the target of the Beyhive. Beyonce’s fans attacked Kim after they believed she was trying to upstage Beyonce with racy pics during Lemonade’s premiere on April 23.

HollywoodLife.com learned EXCLUSIVELY that Kim was not trying to steal Beyonce’s thunder whatsoever. “She was being goofy and enjoying the moment — she wasn’t thinking about anything else and honestly didn’t even realize Beyoncé dropped the album at the same time,” a source told us.

Kim may not be at the top of the Beyhive’s list of favorite people, considering she used to be best friends with Rachel Roy! She’s the girl Beyonce’s fans have accused of allegedly cheating with Bey’s husband Jay Z! Kim and Rachel haven’t been seen out for a while, and Kanye West has warned Kim to stay out of the drama. He doesn’t even want her to be friends with Rachel!

Apple hires Tesla exec for classified project

Apple is either well on its way to developing some sort of automobile or else is simply hiring top car talent for no apparent reason.
That's the conclusion increasingly being draw by the talent war being waged between Apple and Tesla in particular, two Silicon Valley neighbors and potentially product rivals.
The latest salvo is the news that a former Tesla vice president of vehicle engineering Chris Porritt, who made his name guiding some of Aston Martin's most elegant roadsters, has joined Apple in a senior position, according to a report Tuesday in sister publications 9to5Mac and Electrek.
Apple declined comment on the report.
Although a number of Tesla employees have defected to Apple over the past year - Tesla CEO Elon Musk has derisively called Apple the "Tesla graveyard," carping that Cupertino is where failed Tesla employees go to die - Porritt is the most senior exec to make the move, although according to the publications Porritt left Tesla some months ago.
Unnamed sources told the twin outlets that Porritt's title at Apple is Special Projects Group PD Administrator. While at Tesla, Porritt had a hand in designing all three models: S, X and the forthcoming entry level 3. At Aston Martin, Porritt worked on the iconic DB9 as well as the One-77 supercar.
Meanwhile, the quest to spot something resembling an Apple car during testing has become akin to seeking out Bigfoot.
TechRadar posted an item last week with a blurry photo of a Ford Transit van with a roof full of tech gear. The site speculated that the gear looked that Lidar - laser radar used in autonomous car tech - but added that the driver appeared to have his hands on the wheel.

How Google abused mobile app market with Android

The European Union said Wednesday that Google breached the bloc's competition laws by giving preferential treatment to its Android operating system on mobile applications.
EU Antitrust Commissioner Margrethe Vestager published a so-called Statement of Objections laying out the case. The tech giant has 12 weeks to issue a formal reply.

"A competitive mobile internet sector is increasingly important for consumers and businesses in Europe. Based on our investigation thus far, we believe that Google's behavior denies consumers a wider choice of mobile apps and services and stands in the way of innovation by other players,” Vestager said.
“Dominant companies have a responsibility not to abuse their position,” said Vestager. “Google has abused its dominant position.”
In a blog post on Google's website, Kent Walker, a senior vice president for the firm, responded by saying that "Android has emerged as an engine for mobile software and hardware innovation. It has empowered hundreds of manufacturers to build great phones, tablets and other devices. And it has let developers of all sizes easily reach huge audiences."
Walker added: "We take (the EU's) concerns seriously, but we also believe that our business model keeps manufacturers’ costs low and their flexibility high, while giving consumers unprecedented control of their mobile devices."
Google's Android operating system is free and comes bundled with other Google products such as Google search, Gmail and YouTube. In Android's five largest markets in Europe — Great Britain, Germany, France, Italy and Spain — it holds more than 70% market share, according to Kantar, a research firm.
The 28-nation EU has other investigations against Google, notably on its search services. It has also brought antitrust cases against Apple, Amazon and Microsoft.

Is Jenifer Aniston The World's Most Beautiful Woman In 2016?

Jennifer Aniston may be 47, but that didn't stop her from an experiencing "this sort of very excited, teenage-y kind of moment" upon being named People's "Most Beautiful Woman in the World."
The Friends star covers the new issue, due on newsstands Friday.

Aniston previously held the title in 2004 at age 35.
She chalked the 2016 honors up to learning to take better care of herself over the years.
Aniston told the magazine, "It's funny, it's a really quick transition from not a care and now all of a sudden, we've got to really be mindful of what we put inside our bodies," she adds. "And how we sleep and take care of ourselves. You can get away with a lot in your 20s."
Guess that means she didn't attempt that taco cleanse after all.
Aniston returns to the big screen on April 29 for Mother's Day.

Dana White Confirms Why He Pulled Conor McGregor Out Of U.F.C 200

Last night the world of MMA was hit by the news that Conor McGregor was 'retiring' and whilst we were trying to decipher if it was true or not UFC confirmed that he'd been pulled out of their biggest event ever, UFC 200, by the company. Now Dana White has confirmed why.

There's been lots of speculation as to why McGregor has retired and subsequently been pulled out of UFC 200 with money and the death of friend Joao Carvalho affecting the Irishman both being stated as possible reasons.

However Dana White has come out and confirmed that the reason is actually to do with a training camp that McGregor refused to leave in order to complete advertising for the huge event on May 9th:

White says the promotion is now working on a new fight for Nate Diaz, in the way Diaz stepped in last minute to fight McGregor at UFC 196 when Rafael dos Anjos backed out due to injury, but it's yet to be seen if the match would still be considered as a main event fight.

McGregor's future is still unclear with even White questioning if the Notorious has retired or not.

How many more twists can this story take?

Dortmund Fan Takes Out Advert In Local Liverpool Newspaper

Liverpool vs Borussia Dortmund will be remembered for a while for the incredible comeback that the home side mounted from 3-1 down. However for some the love-in between the two sides will also linger long in the memory and one fan has continued it.

The two sides share the bond of Jurgen Klopp as well as singing "You'll Never Walk Alone" and famously having very vocal support, the Kop vs the Yellow Wall. Plenty of people are fed up of the love-in but certainly not the fans of the two clubs.

Borussia Dortmund fan Stephan Rueter sent a message to the hosts by buying up some advertising space in local paper the Liverpool Echo:

What lovely respect between the two sides. But seriously can you just kick lumps out of each other next time, it's the English way!

See The Number Of Tickets Liverpool Fans Will Have If They Reach Europa Final

Liverpool fans looking forward to witnessing their team play in a Europa League final this season should probably make plans for watching the match (should Liverpool overcome Villareal in the semi-finals, that is) in the pub or at home as the amount of tickets they are to receive for the final at Basel's St Jakob-Park is pitifully low.
While Basel's ground may be a perfectly fine football stadium, it's suitability as the host of a major European final is questionable, given that the capacity of the ground is only 35,000 - a figure which ensures the supporters of the clubs who reach the final will only be allocated 9,000 tickets.
If the Reds are successful in defeating Villareal over two legs, one of Shakhtar Donetsk or four time tournament champions Sevilla await in Switzerland on Wednesday, May 18th.
To put the paltry amount of tickets on offer to the finalists into context, Liverpool have 27,000 season ticket holders and sold 32,000 tickets for their Capital One Cup final against Manchester City, earlier this season. Nine thousand tickets have already been allocated to neutral supporters, which further highlights the ineptitude of so many people working at UEFA, that they actually think it's a good idea to reward people who are fans of neither finalist with almost a third of the available tickets for a match of such magnitude.
The remaining 8,000 seats for the final will go to the "local organising committee, national associations, commercial partners and broadcasters, and to serve the corporate hospitality programme". So between them and the neutrals, that's 17,000 tickets that could have been sold to fans of the clubs involved in the match that have gone elsewhere. What a fucking joke..

While Rob was waiting at L.A.X.’s baggage claim area Apr. 18, a TMZ cameraman buttered him by telling him, “If you televise your wedding, it’s going to be the biggest TV spectacular ever,” but the former reality star isn’t playing ball, responding back, “You all are crazy man.” As the photog presses on about the topic Rob says “I’m just trying to be happy, that’s all,” showing he clearly doesn’t want to talk about the subject.

“I’m not talking about anything, the answer is no, no to everything,” he replies after the paparazzi says that if he doesn’t say “no” to his question, he’ll take it to mean a yes. Rob sounds pretty solid with his answer, but is clearly flushed and looks a little embarrassed about being asked the question repeatedly. But he got super firm when another cameraman asked if he’d consulted with his mom Kris Jenner, 60 about broadcasting his nuptials, snapping back “I’m not televising anything.” Well there you have it!

Speculation has been rife ever since Rob popped the question to Blac back on Apr. 4 that the pair might cash in some big bucks by making their big day into a TV event. After all, his sisters both have, as Khloe Kardashian, 31, married Lamar Odom, 36 in a 2009 Keeping Up With The Kardashians special. Kim Kardashian, 35, had TWO televised E! weddings, first to NBA star Kris Humphries, 31, in 2011 and then to current husband Kanye West, 38, in their epic 2014 Italian nuptials.  But it looks like their baby brother Rob sure doesn’t want to follow in their footsteps.

Pochettino Wants Arsenal Star At Tottenham Next Season

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has hinted at the possibility of giving Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta a coaching role at the club.

Arteta is set to leave the Gunners at the end of the season, with his contract set to expire in June this year. And his imminent exit has led to suggestions Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola, who will take over Manchester City next term, is interested in taking the Spaniard to Eastlands to be part of his back-room coaching staff.

However, Pochettino has fuelled speculation that he could also be keen on Arteta's services, indicating that their time together at Paris Saint-Germain back during the 2001/2002 season could convince the 34-year-old to coach at White Hart Lane instead.

"I love him and he loves me. You know our history from Paris Saint-Germain, when he was 17 and I was the captain. We have a very good relationship. The thing is rumours and you know I never speak about rumours."

Apple Leak: new iphone to come out with all glass new design!!

He’s at it again. KGI Securities’ Ming-Chi Kuo (dubbed “the best Apple analyst on the planet”) has dug up new information on Apple’s increasingly controversial iPhone plans and this is perhaps the most radical of the lot…

Picked up by the ever reliable 9to5Mac, Kuo’s new report says Apple will completely redesign the iPhone. Out will go the ranges’ famed aluminium chassis and in its place will be the return of an all-glass enclosure. This will also be complemented by new cutting edge curved OLED display.

The only problem? These changes will come in 2017, not 2016.

Yes, according to Kuo, Apple will finally abandon its ‘tick/tock’ external redesign / internal upgrade pattern for iPhone launches. Consequently the iPhone 7 will look largely like the iPhone 6 / iPhone 6S and it will be an ‘iPhone 8’ in 2017 where Apple will pull out all the stops.

Why? Kuo doesn’t speculate, but an obvious point that springs to my mind is that 2017 is the tenth anniversary of the iPhone.

Of course this wouldn’t be the first time Apple has used glass. The company enjoyed mixed success with the material in the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S. Cracked backs plagued these stylish phones, but Kuo argues that advances in toughening glass since then should address this. Glass would also be ideal for wireless charging and boosting antenna reception.

How much faith should we place in Kuo’s report? As its reputation suggests, a lot. In recent times the analyst has a near perfect track record. He broke news of the radical 12-inch MacBook, iPad Pro, the shift to 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch screen sizes with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, nailed every major feature of the iPhone 6S four months ahead of launch and revealed the iPhone SE, including its lower pricing.

Kane Posts Motivational Message For Spurs After Leicester Draw!

Harry Kane is baying for blood after watching Leicester drop points in the English Premier League title race.

The Tottenham striker would have been hoping that West Ham could put a dent in the Foxes' championship challenge when the sides met at the King Power Stadium this afternoon.

And that's exactly what they did as they held Leicester to a 2-2 draw and Jamie Vardy got sent off. It could have been even better for Spurs with the Hammers leading 2-1 going into the final minutes.

Leicester had taken the lead in the game through Jamie Vardy, but found themselves following his sending off and goals from Andy Carroll and Aaron Cresswell.

In control and with a man advantage, you would have expected West Ham to go on and get all three points, but Leicester hit back with a late Leonardo Ulloa penalty to steal a point.

But it's still not ideal for Claudio Ranieri's title-chasers, as their lead at the top went from seven to eight points - and gives Spurs the opportunity to cut it to five if they can beat Stoke tomorrow night.

Kane posted on Instagram shortly after the result - and got all cryptic as he shared a picture of a pack of lions waiting to pounce on their prey:

We're almost certain Kane's picture comes off the back of Leicester drawing and the motivation that gives Tottenham to cut the gap.

But, of course, he could just like lions, couldn't he?

OLYMPIC MEDALLIST ACCUSED OF TWEAKING A PASSENGER'S NIPPLE INSIDE PLANE

An Australian Olympic gold medallist has found himself accused of "tweaking" a plane passenger's nipple during a row over a seat.

Grant Hackett, who won 1500m freestyle gold in 2000 and 2004, is alleged to have "forcefully" grabbed the man's nipple during a flight on Sunday.

The incident happened en-route from Adelaide to Melbourne after Mr Hackett, 35, allegedly became annoyed that the man's seat was too far reclined.

The complainant told Australia's The Daily Telegraph that Mr Hackett pushed the chair forward again after he tried reclining it.

“Then he put his hand through and groped my chest and tweaked my nipple quite forcefully,” the passenger said.

Mr Hackett allegedly stroked his arm and said “it’s OK, it’s all right” but the passenger said he felt unsafe and violated.

He denied the incident was "nasty" but said it troubled him enough to make him worry about flying again.

Chelsea Players Only Care About Euro 2016!

The Blues interim manager believes the upcoming tournament may already be taking up most of the players' attention, rather than the remaining Premier League games
Guus Hiddink admits some of his Chelsea stars have begun to take it easy as their attention turns to the upcoming European Championship.

Defending champions Chelsea suffered back-to-back Premier League defeats after slumping to a 3-0 home loss against Manchester City on Saturday.

It was their 16th reverse in all competitions during what has been an abysmal campaign, with Chelsea languishing in 10th and still six points shy of their worst Premier League points tally of 50.

Hiddink believes with the season coming to the end and no realistic target to aim for, some of the Chelsea players have begun preserving themselves for the Euros in France.
"Partly true, but I cannot blame the players for having a lack of attitude," the Dutchman said on the matter.

"Some players might think that, but I cannot look into their minds, in their brains. They might be thinking of the Euros.

"When there is nothing at stake then with some people there is a little bit of a lack of the ultimate work."

Despite being out of it Chelsea still have a big say in the title race for this season with home games against Tottenham and leaders Leicester City to come.

Rihanna & Leonardo DiCaprio Reunite & Party — See Pic

The proof is in the pictures, people! Rihanna and Leonardo DiCaprio were spotted together at Coachella partying the night away. Are they getting flirty again?
New/old couple alert! Former flames Leonardo DiCaprio, 41, and Rihanna, 28, reunited at Coachella in Indio, California on April 17! The actor and pop princess, who have been linked romantically, were spotted partying the night away at the music festival, and looking pretty cozy to boot. Are things back on?

Well, well, well. What do we have here? Leo and Rihanna looked like they were trying to go a bit incognito at Coachella (sunglasses at night, guys?), but they weren’t fooling anyone! The Rihanna sparkled in tons of bling, and Leo was casual in a baseball cap, aviators, and a bandana, but it’s decidedly the twosome, who were linked in the beginning of 2016, as well as early 2015! The lack of space between them seems to indicate that they’re giving things another go!

Is the third time the charm? Leo and Rihanna did little to quell romance rumors when they were spotted together in Paris in January 2016 getting affectionate. Rihanna gave Leo a big kiss on the cheek while out at the L’toile club, a sweet congratulations for his Oscar nomination. The two have repeatedly stated that they’re just friends, and as a source previously told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY, dating again may not be in the cards.

She may be Bad Girl RiRi, but she’s not too interested in dating bad boys right now. “They do have a connection and continue to talk and even FaceTime,” the source said. But they looked awfully cozy at Coachella; maybe some time apart has changed Rihanna’s mind!
