Lols Mexican drug lord wanted to buy Chelsea

On a day of strange soccer stories, comes one right out of an opium dream: Notorious drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman reportedly wanted to buy Premier League giant Chelsea Football Club.
And no, this is not a joke.
According to Diario SPORT, Mexican authorities confirmed, based on their findings prior to Guzman’s capture last week, the diminutive kingpin was seriously looking into purchasing the London based club and had the means to do it.

With an estimated net worth close to $1 billion, Guzman allegedly was looking to marry his two loves: Soccer and what the Mexican press euphemistically calls “entrepreneurship.”
Such a takeover would be highly unlikely of course. For one, Roman Abramovich is not looking to sell Chelsea; for another the so-called “fit and proper person” test would seem like a high bar for a narcotics trafficker to pass.
