Donald Trump Threatens Ted Cruz’s Wife On Twitter Before Quickly Deleting Tweet

Uh oh! Donald Trump got a first hand lesson in how it’s bad politics for one candidate to attack another’s spouse. The Republican front runner made a Twitter threat against Ted Cruz’s wife Heidi, which he later realized was a huge mistake and deleted!
This is a rarity! Donald Trump, 69 actually dialed back on a Twitter threat against a political rival’s spouse, after he launched a scathing comment about 45-year-old opponent Ted Cruz‘s wife Heidi, 43. He threatened to “spill the beans” on her after The Donald mistakenly thought that Ted had been posting Facebook ads mocking his wife Melania Trump‘s 2000 nude British GQ spread.

“Lyin’ Ted Cruz just used a picture of Melania from a G.Q. shoot in his ad. Be careful, Lyin’ Ted, or I will spill the beans on your wife!” Donald tweeted out to his 7.14 million followers on March 22. What got him so angry was a series of anti-Trump Facebook ads that had been circulating that played up Donald’s wife’s nude photo history. Well, it turned Ted didn’t have anything to do with the ads, which were actually put out by an anti-Trump Super Pac. So Donald threatened Ted’s wife over something Ted never did.

That big fact was brought to light when Ted himself tweeted “Pic of your wife not from us. Donald, if you try to attack Heidi, you’re more of a coward than I thought. #classless.” Donald must have come to his senses in that first off, he probably should have tracked down the source of the Melania nude ads before threatening Ted’s wife, and secondly, candidates directly going after each other’s spouses is an unwritten no-no when it comes to running for office. Donald learned his lesson and actually deleted the tweet.
